Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course Re-Opens With New Paspalum Greens and a New Mickey Shaped Bunker!

On Saturday, August 18, 2018, Disney’s Oak Trail golf course re-opened for regular golf play, after a multi-week closure, to allow us to work on all nine greens and to introduce a new Mickey shaped bunker.

Over the years, the greens at Disney’s Oak Trail golf course had experienced altered shapes, in many cases, slowly shrinking in size from their original design.

We took the time this summer to work on each of the greens, removing the original Bermudagrass variants, reshaping the greens back to their original sizes and shapes, and using new Paspalum grass for the surface. The use of Paspalum will allow us to reduce water and fertilizer use for greens maintenance and provide for more robust and healthier putting surfaces in the years ahead.

The new Mickey shaped bunker, just behind the 9th green, introduces a golf course feature that has been exclusive to the par-3 6th hole on Disney's Magnolia golf course since 1971. Be sure to stop by to take photos of this exciting new feature as you play at Disney's Oak Trail golf course!

We are excited to continue our commitment to enhance our golf courses and to raise the bar on what it means to experience the magic of Walt Disney World® Golf, operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management.

We look forward to welcoming you to the "Happiest Place on TURF!"
