Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course Re-Opens With Renovated Bunkers and a New Mickey Shaped Bunker!

On Saturday, August 18, 2018, Disney’s Lake Buena Vista golf course re-opened for regular golf play, after a multi-week, staged closure, to allow us to work on all sand bunkers and to introduce a new Mickey shaped bunker.

During the closure of Disney's Lake Buena Vista golf course, all sand bunkers underwent a renovation, including:

• Reshaping and re-sodding of bunker faces
• Replacement of the aging drainage systems, with new underground drainage pipes
• Replacement of the old grey sand, with new pristine white sand

There were some bunkers that were removed during the closure, in order to enhance and change the playability of selected holes.

We also constructed a new Mickey shaped bunker, just behind the 9th green. This is a golf course feature that has been exclusive to the par-3 6th hole on Disney's Magnolia golf course since 1971 and a third location was also just added to Disney's Oak Trail golf course, just behind the 9th green too. Be sure to take time to stop by to take photos of this exciting new feature!

This work completes a multi-year cycle of major renovations to all of the Walt Disney World® Golf courses, including Disney's Palm in 2013, Disney's Oak Trail in 2014, Disney's Magnolia in 2015 and now in 2018, Disney's Oak Trail again, along with Disney's Lake Buena Vista golf course.

We are very excited and pleased with the results of this extensive work and look forward to many years of great golf at all of our courses.

If you have not yet played our courses, or have not done so in some time, we invite you to join us to experience the magic of golf at the Walt Disney World® Resort, operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management.

We look forward to welcoming you to the "Happiest Place on TURF!"
