Breaking News! Walt Disney World has announced that “Arnold Palmer Golf Management is going to operate, manage, maintain and help promote Disney’s five golf courses”.
This new relationship will begin September 25, 2011.
The news appears on the Disney Blog.
Since they include the Osprey Ridge course in the announcement, it can only leave one wondering how this affects, if at all, the future of the Osprey Ridge course, which is supposed to become part of the new Four Seasons Resort and the Golden Oak residential community. It had been previously announced that the Four Seasons Resort is delayed until 2014.
UPDATE: A full press release has been posted at WDWNews.com, mentioning that future plans include a renovation of the Palm course to become an Arnold Palmer design. The Palm course is one of the three original Joe Lee designed courses, along with the Magnolia and Lake Buena Vista courses.
UPDATE: Additional information has been posted at the Orlando Sentinel, with further details.
Stay tuned!
